New Title Presentations in Bookstores
Booksellers, like those at Linden Tree, Gingerbread, Orinda Books, and
The Storyteller in California, Junior Editions in Maryland, That Bookstore in Blytheville
in Arkansas, The Book Cellar in Nevada, Lift Bridge Books in New York, Scott's in
Washington, and many others, are forging new and cementing current alliances with
teachers and librarians in their communities -- by sponsoring seasonal new title
presentations by Walter Mayes.
Most of these presentations are held in the evening, in the bookstore (although there
was that sushi bar event...). Teachers and librarians are invited, well in advance,
for what is promised to be energizing time well spent.
Walter shows and discusses approximately 75 new and forthcoming children's and young
adult titles from a wide variety of publishers, at the rate of 25 each half hour,
within an hour-and-a-half program. A bibliography is provided for all
participants. Not only is this type of service event a bridge builder for booksellers,
it is also tremendously fun and thoughtful -- and it sells a LOT of books! (You and
your staff will find a terrific "lift," too.)
The basic new title presentation fee is $500; plus travel expenses to areas outside
of the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
For further content information, please feel free to speak with Walter, directly,
